Dedicated to the memory of Ann

This site is a tribute to Ann Young (née Hill), who was born in Ilfracombe, North Devon on September 02, 1939.

Ann moved to Derby in 1958 and worked as a Laboratory Assistant at British Celanese. It was there that she met her beloved husband Alan and they were happily married for over 60 years.

Ann lived in Spondon, Derby for over 60 years. After bringing up her children, she returned to college and qualified as a Teacher. She worked in Chaddesden and Findern, finally retiring as Deputy Head of Findern Primary School.

In retirement she loved to travel with her husband Alan. Together they visited all 4 corners of the world. She was an active member of the Spondon Community enjoying playing Whist, Bridge and meeting with her friends at the Women’s Institute.

Ann had 3 children, Stephen, David and Michael. They gave her nine grandchildren, Sarah, David, Katie, Laura, Andrew, Chris, Charlotte, Bella and Jamie.

She is much loved and will leave a huge hole in all of our lives.
